Third is Thompkins Lane in Farnham Royal, just outside Slough with an average of £ 4.149million.

Further down the list, the village of Bracknell in Warfield has emerged as a home price hot spot.

Three streets in the area are among the most expensive in Berkshire.

Garsons Lane, at an average of £ 2.846million, Cricketers Lane at £ 2.405million and Church Lane, at £ 2.241million, are all among the ten most expensive postcodes in Berkshire.

Elsewhere, houses along the Thames at Ferry Lane, Wargrave, part of the Borough of Wokingham, are also in the top ten.

Ferry Lane has an average price of £ 2.318million.

Proximity to the river is clearly a factor in the high prices.

Other areas on the list are Middle Green in Slough, averaging £ 2.143million and Mill Lane, which has an RG4 postcode but is across the border in south Oxfordshire .
