Blackpink Chart The First US Top 10 Album By Korean Girl Group

As hip-hop powerhouses, Metro Boom and 21 Savage start their second surprise collaborative project Wild Mode II at # 1 on this week’s Billboard 200, several other new releases also start their time on the count inside the top 10, refreshing the top zone again. One of those tracks is perhaps from the biggest and most successful all-female vocal group in the world right now, and thanks to the immediate success of their latest launch, the group is making US history.

Blackpink start their debut in full The album at # 2 of this week’s Billboard 200 thanks to 110,000 equivalent displaced units, a very healthy sum for a group that has never been at the highest level of the count before. With their debut top 10, the quartet made history as the first South Korean girl group to fall somewhere between No.1 and No.10.

Prior to this week, Blackpink had already won the record for the most successful album by a South Korean girl group, which is a bar they raise whenever they have a new collection to give away to fans. Last year their EP Kill this love raised at No. 24, and the year before they appeared on the Billboard 200 for the first time with Settle accounts, which narrowly placed in the top 40, peaking at No.40.

The album performed as well as when it arrived thanks in part to a large number of hit singles. Blackpink teased their debut effort longer than an EP with the promotional track “How You Like That,” which opened and solidified its peak at No.33 last summer. A few weeks later, the group returned with pop superstar Selena Gomez in tow, and their “Ice Cream” collaboration broke records, placing # 13 on the Hot 100.

For a while, it looked like Blackpink was going to easily claim the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 this time around, but as is pretty common in the hip-hop world, Metro Boomin and 21 Savage appeared out of nowhere a few days before. . The album fell and announced that their new set is ready and will arrive shortly. This title won the week, mainly thanks to a massive number of streams.
