Carr Hardware is growing again; acquires Lee Hardware

Bart Raser from Carr Hardware and Amanda from HR joined Slater and Marjo to discuss the multiple employment opportunities that exist within the company. In the wake of this news, Carr is growing!

In a dynamic acquisition that unites two families of Berkshire hardware that have been long standing for generations, Carr Hardware acquires Lee Hardware. Strengthening its presence at Lee, Carr Hardware plans to complete its acquisition of Lee Hardware on September 27.

Carr Hardware will continue to operate as Lee Hardware True Value with no downtime for the many loyal customers who depend on the store for their home improvement needs. In business since the 1940s, Joey Scapin, owner and manager of the store since 1991, will remain in place to ensure a smooth transition.

“In making this decision, it was important that the qualities that I value in my employees, my customers and the community continue. I am confident that uniting the legacy of our two family businesses will do just that. It has been an incredible 30 years with the support of the community and the employees of Lee Hardware. I am honored to have served your families and businesses over the years and look forward to new adventures including seeing you while shopping at the store. said Scapin.

The store will retain management, store staff and shoppers will always find their favorite brands like Benjamin Moore, Scotts, Weber, Husqvarna and more. Down the street, Carr Hardware will also continue to operate a sister location. With plans to increase and differentiate products at the two hardware stores, customers will have a wider range of buying opportunities.

“I have tremendous admiration for Joey, Courtney and their family’s business. We have competed respectfully for 80 years. They run a community-driven department store with strong brands and friendly local people, who will both carry on. Says Carr Hardware President Bart Raser. “By leveraging our strengths, exceptional people and business expansion, we will bring more deals, a well-organized shopping experience and even better prices. “
