For over 55 years, the pizza you know and love has been served at Mountain Brook. Read on to find out how Davenport’s Pizza is still growing.

A Birmingham classic

Davenport’s Pizza Palace is no stranger to Birmingham’s pizza scene. Founded in 1964 by Alabama native Jim and Ardyce Hollis, Davenport’s was one of the first pizzerias not only in Birmingham, but across the South. Their slogan says they are “the best in the South, maybe the North, maybe the world!” With their pizza dough and homemade sauce, they earned this title.

This popular family owned restaurant has served pizza and salads for three generations in Mountain Brook and is ready to bring all that goodness to Vestavia. Some of you may remember a Vestavia Davenport from the 1980s. The owners were forced to close the popular store after the building was sold. Now Davenport is ready to storm Vestavia once more.

Our Vestavia customers have supported us for many decades, and now they will have Davenport’s a little closer to home.… We appreciate the support and look forward to serving our unique pizza to the Vestavia community!

Legendary Pizzeria Establishing New Location

The new location will soon open in downtown Vestavia, managed by Crawford Square Real Estate Advisors (CRSEA). This place has been creating a buzz lately with other dining options such as the Crumbl Bakery (open now) and the new Chopt Salad concept (opening soon) joining the range of dining and entertainment options on offer. With televisions, green spaces and those telltale orange spinning mills, it’s no wonder that downtown Vestavia is all the rage.

Davenport’s has been a well-known restaurant in Birmingham for some time, and it’s the perfect fit to enhance our current family options at Vestavia City Center. We are excited to bring the community what they want.

The new location will open in early 2022 and will have all merchandise. You can expect to find outdoor seating, TVs to catch up on games and, of course, that homemade goodness you can only find at Davenport’s. In the meantime, continue to descend to Davenport in Mountain Brook. We will see you there!
