news, national

A man has blown nearly five times over the legal blood alcohol limit after he was caught driving a lawn mower down the road in northern New South Wales. The 40-year-old was arrested by police on Saturday evening after he was seen driving the motorized lawnmower in Terranora, south of Tweed Heads. After failing a roadside breathalyzer, the driver was arrested and taken to a local police station where he returned an alleged reading of 0.243. He is due in court in May on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving without an immobilizer and driving a type of motor vehicle not registered on the road. Australian Associated Press
