TECH DATA UNVEILS FUTURE WORKPLACE PLAN; Distributor to create improved workspaces at its Basingstoke and Bracknell sites to provide superior and sustainable work environments for colleagues

BasingstokeTechnical data ( a TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX), invests in the future of its business, the well-being of its employees, and takes a step towards its net zero carbon objectives, through a global plan to reinvent and improve its workspaces .

As part of its Future Workplace plan, Tech Data employees Basingstoke and Bracknell will benefit from office spaces that are being completely renovated to include a wide variety of work and collaboration spaces that will support and encourage the different activities and preferences of colleagues. They include collaboration areas, agile workspaces, chat booths, casual meeting areas, project areas, a multi-faith and mothers’ room, as well as improved break and canteen facilities.

Both offices will have the same look, design and feel, providing co-workers with a cohesive environment and experience. At both sites, co-workers will benefit from a bright and open use of floor space with zones for physical, virtual and hybrid interactions.

Moreover, the Basingstoke The location will house a new Technology Center dedicated to resellers, enabling vendor technology demonstrations, proof-of-concept testing and customer meetings. The Bracknell site already houses the Tech Data Business Solutions Centre.

In addition to being carefully designed for optimal work and collaboration, energy efficiency and consumption are key aspects of future workplaces and an important part of Tech Data’s sustainability goals.

New Basingstoke office, which remains in Chinaham Park, is energy efficient with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)1 of B and a BREEAM2 score of very good. The car park has several charging stations for electric vehicles. Technical data is also investing in LED lighting to reduce energy consumption and move to net zero electricity providers. There will be a redevelopment of the existing Bracknell office where work is already underway and where the owner has committed to an investment plan to bring the building up to an EPC rating of B.

Technical data hired a firm specializing in the design and construction of offices to map the space and equipped the premises with the latest systems and furniture. The impact of the move will be amplified by the continuation of hybrid working practices.

Purpose-built and equipped with the latest technology, furniture and equipment, they will be both inspiring and practical workspaces and will enable people to work together even more effectively to provide the highest levels of service and support to our customers and partners.

The Future Workplace plan is the result of a detailed review of Tech Data’s real estate in the UK and Ireland, which aims to provide future-proof working environments that will meet the needs of employees and the company in the long term. In addition to upgrading the Basingstoke and Bracknell offices, Technical data will take advantage of rental events to update its other UK Locations.
