Purplebricks real estate agent says more parents are looking to buy homes for their kids to live in while they study

Parents of University students in Reading are looking to buy them homes in the city as an alternative to life in student digs.

Real estate agent Purplebricks has revealed there has been a massive increase in requests from parents of University of Reading students.

This lead to 14 student houses put up for sale all at once, which company experts say is very rare.

The seller is Clifford Sinclair Limited, who started building up properties around Reading in 1999.

The homes are sold as part of a group-wide decision to restructure the business.

Local Purplebricks real estate expert Tim Gould says that in addition to being an investment for parents and a reliable source of income, it takes the hassle and hassle out of finding a home.

He added that some decided private homes are preferable to student residences in the current coronavirus pandemic.

He said: “Reading is a large, vibrant city with a well-known university and several campuses in Reading.

“We have a portfolio of 14 properties with a long and successful history of student rentals and they are all based within walking distance of various university campuses.

“Students prefer the larger rooms as well as the convenience of the university, and local shops and amenities.”

The portfolio includes houses at Upper Redlands Road – at a cost of £ 850,000 – Addington Road and Cressingham Road south of Reading.
